U.S. Figure Skating’s Technical Panel Committee will be offering continuing education seminars for all current technical specialists and technical controllers and those prospective technical officials at the following non-qualifying events this summer:

Participants in the two-day seminars will be credited with technical panel official activity, and for one non-qualifying competition. Seminar participation is intended to supplement training for technical officials, but no certifications will be awarded at these events. However, seminar participation will be taken into consideration by the technical committee for future advancement.
Seminars will be conducted under the direction of the Technical Panel Committee. Faculty will oversee participants trial calling during actual non-qualifying events which will be followed by an event de-briefing meeting.
Seminar Fee: $25.00 payable to U.S. Figure Skating (enrollment is limited.)

ATTENTION NOVICE DANCERS!!!!
There is a potential change in the Novice Compulsory Dances for the 2008-9 competitive season. This will be determined at the Governing Council meeting in May. The dances being proposed are the Blues, the American Waltz, & the Paso Doble. If this passes at the Governing Council meeting, these are the dances that will be used for the Novice Dance event for the 2008 Broadmoor Open.

ELIMINATION ROUND INFORMATION
Elimination rounds will be held for the following levels:
Juvenile Ladies FS
Open Juvenile Girls FS
Intermediate Ladies Combined Event
Novice Ladies Combined Event
Junior Ladies Combined Event
All other levels will compete in the final round only without an elimination round.
ATTENTION SKATERS !!!
All Juvenile - Senior level skaters competing in the Combined event or the SP Only event will need to submit a Program Content Form. Open Juvenile skaters should submit a form only for the SP event. This must be done online in the USFS Members Only section under the 2008 Broadmoor Open Competition.
Those skaters entered in the Open Juvenile SP event should submit their forms under the Juvenile level.
If you are skating your FS at one level and your SP at another, enter all of the information for both programs under the level at which you are competing your FS program.
If you are competing at more than one level of the combined event, please enter your information for the lowest level at which you are competing and then submit the higher level on paper faxing it no later than June 15th to:

Any rule changes approved at the 2008 Governing Council that are effective immediately for this year's competitive season will be observed at the Broadmoor Open Competition.
CORRECTION!
IJS CHANGES
The latest scale of values per ISU Communications 1494, & 1496 will be used at the Broadmoor Open.
Since the ISU Congress will be voting on the new rule updates for this season the week before the Broadmoor Open, we will be following all rules currently in effect. Communications 1494 & 1496 are in full effect, but since any new clarifications to 1494 & 1496 from the ISU Congress in June will not be available for everyone to make timely adjustments to their program only what is currently in effect will be called including all well-balanced program rules that are currently in effect. The new clarifications will be discussed with the skaters & coaches at their critiques. The links below list the potential changes:
