Welcome! Membership Information & Application 2008 Membership Fees.pdf 2008 Membership Renewal Form.pdf Membership in the Broadmoor Skating Club (BSC) runs from July 1 to June 30. When joining the Broadmoor Skating Club you will be joining United States Figure Skating (USFS) at no additional cost.
The Broadmoor Skating Club, Inc. (BSC) is a member of United States Figure Skating (USFS). It was started in 1938 under the name of Pikes Peak Figure Skating Club and changed its name to the Broadmoor Skating Club in 1948. Currently, the club is one of the largest in the United States with a membership of over 350 ranging in ages from 1 to 70+.
The club, through membership in the USFS, encourages figure skating skills and knowledge through a series of tests to measure the accomplishments of the skater in the four areas of figure skating. These are moves in the field, free skating, pair skating and ice dancing. Skaters must be members of the USFS before they can be tested. This system is used as a base for skaters to qualify for the various levels of competition.
The BSC is governed by a Board of Directors consisting of ten local members. Each year at the annual meeting, three members of the board are elected by the adult membership of the club for a three (3) year term. Also a coach serves on the Board. A list of the current Board of Directors is published in the Newsletters and Bulletins. You are welcome to contact any of the Board for more information.

Membership Activities Activities include: Fire & Ice Exhibitions at which the competitors have the opportunity to perform their programs before an audience.
Convention Shows during which the skaters receive experience in the entertainment field.
Note: Membership in the club does not guarantee a spot in any of these shows.
Broadmoor Open - The annual competition the club sponsors. This gives our skaters the opportunity to compete at their home rink and gain competition experience before traveling to other cities to compete. It is also a major fund raiser for the club.
Test sessions - Where skaters can test in the USFS tests to progress and develop in their chosen skating fields. These tests are the basis for the levels at which the skaters will enter competition.
Critiques - A critique is held in the fall for those skaters entering the USFS Qualifying Competitions.
Our club continues to be dependent on the volunteer service of its members. All of the above activities require many people doing small jobs or a few people doing it all. In order to continue providing the benefits we are all accustomed to, we encourage each family to support their skater and donate their time and expertise to volunteer for the club. A volunteer list is attached.
Sanction Rules. To participate in activities that are sponsored by the BSC you need no permission to test, compete or perform. However, if you wish to test at another rink, perform in an exhibition or show at another rink or club, or be in a competition you must first receive written approval from an officer or the test chairman to participate. There are no exceptions to these USFS rules. Remember to seek this permission in a timely manner.
